Molten Spirit Glass is honoured to create a beautiful memorial keepsake incorporating your beloved one’s ashes. Made with deep respect and personal attention, each piece is handled with care and respect throughout the process in our small personal studio.
Amongst the jewel-like colours and iridescent powders, your beloved one’s ashes can be seen in the wispy cloud-like swirls throughout.
THE PROCESS OF CREATING IN MEMORIAM PIECES
A small amount of your loved one’s ashes is carefully arranged on a steel-faced table (marver). A punty of hot glass is gathered, shaped, and then rolled in a dab of your chosen colour/s. Next, the glass is rolled over the ashes which adhere to the hot glass surface. More clear glass is added to encase the ashes, then twisted and formed by hand tools into the desired shape. The finished piece is then placed into an annealer to cool down overnight.
Your finished memorial piece may be engraved with a small amount of text, or dates at your request. Any remaining ashes are returned with your order.
The solid glass Memorial Orbs are 2” in diameter and come with a small crystal base for display.
Each Memorial Orb requires about 1/2 teaspoon of ashes.
